Check out The Saint for the Hot New Sounds on the Jersey Shore

Though not as old as the Stone Pony, having been founded at the end of 1994, the Saint still competes as a force in small live music venues. It even has a mission: "to present and preserve live original music at the Jersey Shore".

A great location right at the heart of Asbury Park, this is the epitome of a music club that specializes in great local acts, often three different shows per night, but it has also featured rock superstars such as Creed, Jewel and Incubus.

This club is all about the sound, with a monitor mix that projects the musicians in your face. But the people scene is great too- there's a hot crowd and you can get decent drink or you can choose from 20 different beer brands.

Is Bruce's "It's so hard to be a Saint in this City" talking about this place? Who knows, but the next Bruce may very well come from nitty gritty clubs like this. Anyone who is interested in keeping the pulse of the music scene will want to check out the live acts that appear at the this club nightly.

See for yourself at The Saint.
