The Seaside Heights Boardwalk - How a Boardwalk Should Be!

Seaside Heights' famous boardwalk was practically obliterated by Super Storm Sandy, and the iconic picture of the roller coaster in the middle of the ocean became a symbol of the devastation and destruction that the Jersey Shore suffered. But "Jersey Strong" became the rallying cry, and the boardwalk is back, even though many of the businesses, including the Fun Town Pier, suffered a devastating fire within an year of Sandy's destruction.

The tons of sand that lay on the boardwalk are back on the beach where it belongs, and, although the spectacular rides like the roller coaster and Ferris wheel, that spelled "Seaside" to so many people are gone, the heart and soul of the boardwalk is still there.

Go Back to a Simpler, More Relaxed Time in Seaside Heights

Yes, the arcade games, concession stands, and restaurants are back, and more and more are opening each week. If you like your boardwalk on the corny, old fashioned side, Seaside is the one for you! The skee-ball and pinball machines, corn dogs and hot dogs and fresh lemonade will bring you back to childhood days and pleasures. You can still win a stuffed toy for your sweetheart and show your friends what a pinball wizard you are!

And if you really want to go back in time, ride the beautiful carousel, which is over 100 year old! It has many of the original hand painted animals and is truly a work of art, in addition to being a fun ride.

More fun when the Sun goes down

The magic of boardwalks is that the fun goes on all day and all night. With the movies on the beach (on Tuesdays and Sundays in July and August), concerts on the Summer Stage (Thursdays) and the excitement at Casino Pier, that goes on well into the night! Just have a look at the event filled calendar!

There is nothing like a nighttime stroll on a warm summer evening, enjoying an ice cream cone or a candy apple, and taking in the sights and sounds of summer. Young and old enjoy this nostalgic pastime, and you can let the kids run ahead of you; there is no traffic on a boardwalk! Just let your mind wander back to your childhood days on the boardwalk and get your kids' noses out of their cell phones and onto an exciting ride or game of chance!
