Best Beaches on the Jersey Shore for Kids!
We know that the Jersey Shore has the Best Beaches outside of the Caribbean, but do you know that it also has some of the best beaches for kids? If you are looking for the right kind of beach for your kids to enjoy themselves at, you probably want one with protected waters, easy to reach bathroom facilities, snack bars and of course, entertainment for the little darlings.
If you know a little about the beaches of the Jersey Shore, or if you are learning about them here, you will see that each beach of the Jersey Shore has its own unique personality. Some beaches seem to cater to an older crowd, or don't have a lot of attractions for children. (And that's just the way some people like it.) But if you prefer to find the best beaches for your children to have fun and be safe, there are certain ones on the Shore that will perfectly suit your needs.
Avon by the Sea
is one of the most family oriented beaches, and you will find the areas near the jetty full of young moms with their toddlers, since the eddying water near the jetties makes for a nice, safe place to dig holes and build sand castles. The down side is that there are not many snack bars at all on the Avon boardwalk, and they are located at the north end, while the jetty is at the south end. Budget or health minded parents may actually prefer this, since there is no temptation to spend money on junk food; you can just pack your lunch and healthy snacks as so many families do.
If you prefer a kids beach that has loads of excitement for your children, you couldn't find a better fit than
Wildwood Beach.
Lots of rides, attractions and food stands line this busy boardwalk and make entertaining the kids fun and easy.
Point Pleasant
is another great beach for kids on the Jersey Shore. There is a great kiddie ride park, and buying a wrist band for the day makes it a real bargain. There is also Jenkinson's Aquarium, perfect for a rainy vacation day, or just for a change of pace. Jenkinson's also livens up the beach at night with concerts and fireworks.
If your kids like rides and the midway, you'll want to check out
Ocean City
and
Seaside Heights.
The added bonus of these lively resort towns is that there is plenty to do at night as well as during the day.
If you are traveling to the beach with little ones, you may find that beaches such as Asbury Park, Belmar, Cape May or Sandy Hook may not have the kind of beaches and entertainment that your kids will enjoy. So use our ideas here if you are searching for beaches your kids will have fun at and plan a beach vacation that the whole family will enjoy.
