Atlantic City Casinos and So Much More

Atlantic City Casinos get all the notoriety, but there is a lot more to Atlantic City that the gambler misses. Yes, this grand old dame has seen better days, but there is still a beautiful beach with the famous wide, sandy expanses that the Jersey Shore is noted for, and a very interesting and lively boardwalk.

But, OK, let's face it, if you want rolling waves and soft sands, a boardwalk full of rides and summer snacks, bathing beauties, surfer dudes and the athletic volley ball crowd, Atlantic City Beach is not what comes to mind.

Check out the bods on Wildwood Beach, the killer surf at Sandy Hook (with a view of Manhattan, no less) and the Pro Volley Ball at Belmar. No question, Atlantic City is all about the Casinos.

Whether you like the slots, roulette (and you CAN win at roulette with these tips (Click Here!)or blackjack (try these blackjack secrets Click Here!). And the food. Believe it or not, there are many who make the trip to AC not just for the Atlantic City Casinos, but for the great restaurants, especially the bountiful buffets. And each of those lovely Atlantic City Casinos hotels has a dozen or so lovely boutiques to tempt away your winnings. And don't forget the shows and nightlife! Many a veteran gambler is allowed his joy trip to AC only because Mamma can eat and shop to her heart's content between hands of polka or spins of the wheel.

The other great thing about the casinos is that they usually are the best hotel bargains in town as well!

But there really are other things to see and do in Atlantic City.

Getting There

For all intents and purposes, the only way in and out of Atlantic City is by car or bus. There is train service, but it is more for the commuter crowd.

Bus trips to Atlantic City are fun, easy way to get your gambling fix without the hassle of driving. You can sleep all the way there and back if you like!

Academy Bus Lines runs Casino trips to all the major Casinos from New York City:

• Port Authority

• 85th Street

• Staten Island

• 92nd Street

and New Jersey:

• Monmouth County

• Ocean County

• Jackson Township

• Monroe, Willingboro

• Cheesequake Service Area

• Union County

• Hudson County

and the Casinos will even give you money to gamble with!

There's more to do in Atlantic City!

The townwide jitney can take visitors from the hotel parking garage where the car or bus was left, to many of the "other" interesting features of Atlantic City.

The Convention Center has interesting shows and exhibits all year long, and strolling through Trump's Marina pretending one of the boats is yours is a fun pastime. All but the most inveterate gamblers will look for a change of pace from the tables and one arm bandits, and Atlantic City and environs has plenty to offer.

Atlantic City offers cruises, fishing charters, golfing and water sports. Though Atlantic City casino town is not surrounded by water for nothing.

Visitors can take a sunset cruise on a sailboat or go out to see bottleneck dolphins from cruise boat located right in downtown Gardner's Basin. Fishing boats go out daily, or if you win big at the tables, you can treat yourself to a private charter. Surf lessons and bike rentals are available too!

Ten beautiful golf courses surround the city and nothing beats a day of golf followed by the nightlife of Atlantic City Casino's hotels.

Atlantic City's Visitors Bureau has some great ideas for what to do and where to go. There are those, however, who never tire of the hotels.

Glamorous, glitzy, with big names all year round, East Coasters don't have to travel to Vegas for a taste of the good life. Fabulous hotel packages abound offering free shows or other offers. For more in depth info on Atlantic City, visit this great site. Check out the offers at the official Atlantic City Visitor's site and don't forget to watch out for some of the incredible specials the hotels run, especially in the off season. Imagine staying at a top hotel for twenty bucks!
